Lori Hellkamp - Partner at Jones Day
After receiving her bachelor's degree from Rice University, Lori Hellkamp spent time in Istanbul, Turkey, as a language instructor for Mercedes Benz. She then earned a master's (MPhil) degree in from the University of Oxford, followed by her juris doctorate at Duke University School of Law. While a law student at Duke, Lori Hellkamp had summer associate positions at Kim & Chang in Seoul, South Korea and at Jones Day in Washington DC.
In 2008, Ms. Hellkamp joined the Washington DC office of Jones Day, a legal firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, as an associate. Shortly thereafter she began pursuing further studies in taxation at Georgetown University Law, attending evening classes and earning her LLM in 2011. Now a partner with Jones Day, she has provided counsel on tax issues to numerous private and public companies, PE funds and high net worth individuals. Ms. Hellkamp has experience in areas ranging from tax controversy to corporate tax and mergers and acquisitions. She also focuses on international tax planning and regularly handles a variety of issues that arise in cross-border investments.
Lori Hellkamp belongs to professional organizations such as the American Bar Association, the Tax Executives Institute, and the DC Bar Association. She also serves as a board member of the George Washington University/IRS Annual International Tax Institute.
